Abstract

Food security is one of the Indonesian government’s priority programs aimed at achieving national food self-sufficiency without imports. The Integrated Farming System (IFS) can help achieve food security. To optimize the use of IFS, microbial formulations that function as biofertilizers, aid in livestock feed fermentation, and support freshwater aquaculture can be applied. Women farmers in Pojok Village, Tulungagung, play a crucial role in achieving food security. However, the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Pojok Village has not yet implemented the IFS. This community service initiative aims to empower women farmers in Pojok Village through guidance on applying microbial formulations in the agricultural, livestock, and fisheries sectors to support the IFS. The success indicators for this activity are cognitive maturity, technical independence, and sustainability. The community service program will be conducted from May to December 2025, beginning with coordination and activity planning, followed by the provision of IFS materials and microbes supporting its application, training and guidance on the propagation of microbial formulas, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The provision of educational materials proved to enhance cognitive maturity, as evidenced by higher posttest scores compared to pretest scores. Training and guidance on the propagation of microbial formulas demonstrated the community’s ability to independently meet their agricultural needs, while the community’s willingness to continue using the microbial formulations indicates the program’s sustainability.
